BISHOP BARRON: CATHOLICS ARE DROPPING THE BALL ON APOLOGETICS

This is a great video by Bishop Robert Barron.

As I often talk about here, many people, especially the young, are leaving Christianity and the Catholic faith in droves.

No it’s not because Church goers aren’t nice enough.

It’s not even principally because these people are always mired in sin.

It’s because THEY DON’T THINK IT’S TRUE.

In other words, people are leaving the faith principally because of INTELLECTUAL REASONS.

They don’t believe Jesus existed, they don’t believe the Gospels are reliable, they don’t believe God exists, and they think that religion conflicts with science.

And the sad part is that most Catholics and other Christians have no idea how to answer these objections.

And to make matters worse, these objections they cite are so easily answered. These are objections that any decent apologist or evangelist could handle.

The Catholic intellectual world has really dropped the ball on the art and science of apologetics and it needs to stop.

If you are a Christian and can’t answer these most fundamental questions, then you are doing a disservice to those who come to you with questions.

Catholics and other Christians can’t afford to play the “blind faith” game anymore.

Learn how to defend what you love.
