There has been a complete decline of morality in the modern world. That is not to say moral debates don’t still occur (of course they do).
Rather it is to say that the moral terms and ideas used in contemporary moral debates are meaningless because they have been stripped out of their proper context.
You see, real morality, (the idea that there can be moral facts, a real right and a real wrong), presupposes some things. It presupposes an entire worldview. But the worldview of most people today cannot justify morality. In fact, if you take the worldview that most people seem to profess, it reduces to moral nihilism – the idea that morality is illusory and does not exist.
